发布于:4月3日It's not that the foundation of the 'Peggle' games is faulty, but 'Peggle Nights', the sequel to the original, fails to innovate or change anything in order to make it feel like a different game. When I first played 'Peggle Extreme', which consisted of ten levels, and then went on to play 'Peggle', the series felt pretty new and fresh as far as casual games go. Though these games are obviously not original and have the structural integrity of a flash game, they are polished and compiled better than most in that field, usually making them worth the price charged. I would rather pay a few dollars for a game like 'Peggle', especially now that most flash games will be out of commission due to the death of support for Adobe Flash online. Almost two years after the release of 'Peggle', however, 'Peggle Nights' feels as though it hasn't either evolved or changed enough to really warrant its release.

It has the same level amount and structure, the same power-ups and characters: the only thing different is the skin of the game.Sure, there are different levels that had to be built and formulated to provide a quality experience, but it took that long for them to copy-and-paste all of their assets onto fifty or so more levels with different animated skins? It's kind of ridiculous to defend this game for how little it truly adds. It feels as though PopCap found a formula for what worked and decided to just make the same thing again to see if it sold, and it did.
While some people will be happy enough to have more of the same, I have to say, it doesn't work for me. Maybe if these games were cheaper and/or shorter, it would be more forgivable, but one-hundred levels of the same gameplay will get old fast, especially if you play both of these games in a close enough time frame. If one just plays 'Peggle', however, this halved level count is much more appealing if one doesn't want to get worn out.Either way, the innovation and change that doesn't come with the 'Peggle' series is what makes playing more quality titles back-to-back perfectly fine while playing these wear you out. I bought this game expecting to enjoy it, but it made me realize how unoriginal the gameplay here really is. Of course I knew that, but it didn't hit me in the face in the original like it did in 'Peggle Nights', and it lowered my respect for the games as a whole. If you are an avid 'Peggle' fan or casual game player, this may be for you, but personally, I can't get through the same game twice without being bored and unable to find incentive to continue through the entire unoriginal experience.RATING: 4/10.
